How This Speed Test Works
When you press Start, your browser runs three short tests, one after another:
- Ping: several tiny requests are sent to a nearby test server and the round-trip time is averaged.
- Download: the browser downloads data from the test server for a few seconds and measures how many megabits arrive per second.
- Upload: the browser sends data to the test server for a few seconds and measures how many megabits are sent per second.
No files are saved and no personal data is collected — the test only measures raw network throughput.

Tips for a More Accurate Test
- Close other tabs, downloads, and streaming apps before testing
- Connect via Ethernet cable if possible, or sit close to your Wi-Fi router
- Pause other devices on the same network during the test
- Run the test 2–3 times and take the average

This speed test measures real download and upload throughput and round-trip latency directly from your browser to a nearby test server, giving results close to what real-world apps and downloads experience.
For general browsing and HD streaming, 25 Mbps download is usually enough. For 4K streaming, gaming, and multiple devices, 100 Mbps or higher is recommended. Upload speeds of 10 Mbps or more are good for video calls and uploading files.
Network conditions change constantly due to network congestion, Wi-Fi interference, background downloads, and the load on your ISP's network, so results can vary between tests.
Ping is the round-trip time in milliseconds it takes for a small packet of data to travel to a server and back. Lower ping means a more responsive connection, which matters most for gaming and video calls.
